There’s something special about an acoustic-based rock band. String ‘n Bones is all of the above. Based in Atlanta, this five-piece Americana outfit celebrates acoustic rock traditions from San Francisco to San Antonio and on to the Southland – without all the frills. They rely on tasty musicianship, soothing harmonies, exciting dynamics and outstanding song selection.
Their music fuses elements of good-time rock, traditional folk and blues with a hint of old-school country and bluegrass. And they aren’t afraid to drift off into a stirring jam now and then. While their song list covers a wide selection of original and traditional Americana, the band is currently exploring the songbook of acoustic Grateful Dead, from “Reckoning” to
“American Beauty” and beyond.
The group formed in April 2015 when members of The High Mountain Ramblers, Deep Blue Sun, The Squirrelheads and Slim Chance & The Convicts began jamming together for an upcoming festival. It was then that the magic happened – and they decided this group was worth pursuing. They came together as unit very quickly and it wasn’t long before their mantra became, “I love this band.”
Shortly after forming, the group was invited to play several festivals around the Atlanta and middle-Georgia areas and will be the closing act for the upcoming Hemlock Festival in Dahlonega, GA in November 2015.
