An Unparalleled Musical Experience – HemlockFest offers an eclectic mix of rock, blues, folk, bluegrass and world music in a peaceful and beautiful setting. The 13th annual HemlockFest offers another amazing array of some of the area’s most incredible talents.
Activities and Fun for All Ages – HemlockFest is a family-friendly event with something to interest people of all ages. Visitors can come for a day, or camp out for the weekend, and enjoy unique food and beverages under the verandas of the old cabin. There are demonstrations of traditional living skills. Kid’s Nature Village is a natural play space where children can connect with the world around them. Dozens of booths sell art and handcrafts from Georgia and all over the world. Opportunities abound all weekend to learn more about the biodiversity of the Southern Appalachians with guided nature walks, live animals, story telling, and environmental education activities.
The Venue, Beautiful Starbridge Retreat – Starbridge Retreat, located just seven miles from historic Dahlonega, GA, is a scenic 50-acre private resort in the foothills of the Appalachians. Starbridge features a 5-acre pond, several acres of wooded primitive camping sites, a shower house, a 150-year-old cabin, and a lighted stage in a field surrounded by forested hills. Sound for the event is produced with clean energy through the use of solar panels. Participants may use free canoes to paddle the pond. A variety of vendors offer an excellent array of menu items. Local beer and wine selections are available for sale to participants age 21 and older.
Gates close each night at 1:00 am (campers only) and open at 9:00 am.
Camping is restricted to weekend pass holders only.
Kids15 and under are admitted free with a supervising adult ticketholder. Tickets are available online at www.HemlockFest.org or at Xorbia Tickets, and at the gate. We accept cash and most major credit cards at the gate. Campsites are not reserved or guaranteed, and are first-come, first served.
Lumpkin Coalition – Lumpkin Coalition has been focused on the plight of the Eastern hemlock tree since 2005. HemlockFest is the annual fundraising and educational benefit festival for Lumpkin Coalition, which is a 100% volunteer non-profit 501 (c)3 charitable organization formed to facilitate projects that benefit North Georgia, Lumpkin County, its residents and visitors. It is dedicated to preserving quality of life for all those who share it. To this end, it supports the preservation of a clean and healthy environment, responsible living, and responsible growth. Lumpkin Coalition is based in Lumpkin County, Georgia, with membership throughout the Southeast. All proceeds from HemlockFest are applied to the cause of saving the hemlocks and preserving the integrity of the Southern Appalachian ecosystem.
