Frequently Asked Questions

Why a festival about hemlocks?

These large, graceful trees are being killed by a non-native, invasive, parasitic insect, the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid. Proceeds from the festival are used to combat this insect problem to save the hemlocks so they may live. Read more about this and our non profit organization, the Lumpkin Coalition, at: https://lumpkincoalition.org.

What is the address for the festival?

Cherokee Farms is located just outside of Lafayette, Georgia. The address is 2035 Old Mineral Springs Rd
Lafayette Georgia 30728.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, if they are people-friendly and kept on leash. We require you to purchase a $5 “Pooch Pass” for each individual pet you want to bring. You can add-on the pooch passes while purchasing tickets on EventBrite, or pay for the pooch passes at the gate upon arrival. All owners must sign a Pet Policy at the welcome gate prior to entry to the festival grounds. VIEW or PRINT the PET POLICY HERE You can print the policy now and present it at the welcome gate, or if you forget to bring it we will have extras for you to sign at the welcome gate.

Can I have a campfire?

Campfires are allowed at Cherokee Farms, but we ask that you do not build any new fire rings. Rocks left behind will damage our mowers. If you plan to have a campfire consider bringing a portable campfire ring. Firewood can be collected in the wooded areas of the venue, or you may bring your own firewood. At this time, we do not expect to have firewood available for sale at the venue.

Is food and water available?

Yes. HemlockFest will have food and beverages available for you to purchase. We encourage you to patronize our vendors.

Will there be alcohol?

Beer & wine will be available for purchase with proper ID. We recommend purchasing festival koozies and beverage containers at the festival. They reduce breakage and over-all look better.

What are the bathrooms like?

Port-a-Potties and hand washing stations are provided. Additionally, the venue has a bath house with propane-powered hot showers.

Can we swim and/or fish in the pond?

Fishing is allowed in accordance with Georgia fishing regulations. Swimming is allowed – but, seriously folks, it’s November!

Can I bring my fireworks?

No. While fireworks are legal in the state of Georgia, they are not allowed at HemlockFest. People in possession of fireworks will be removed from the venue with no refunds given. We intend to keep this a safe, family-friendly event.

How much are tickets for kids?

Children 15 and under are admitted free with a supervising adult ticket holder. HemlockFest does not offer childcare services. Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.

Can I car-camp?

Yes! For 2022, we have a large field above the main event field, where you can park and set up camp. Car camping is included in the three-day ticket price. Car travel in and out of the site once the festival is underway will be limited to strict necessity, so please plan ahead. Camp sites are first-come, first-served.

Can I bring my RV?

Loud generators are discouraged – some people need their sleep! The RV lot is first come-first served.
